I will provide one to one coaching to those who require it.

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

regarding my Bushcraft Workshop 17th-19th April 2020.


It is with great regret and after a discussion with different authorities, that I have decided to Postpone my Bushcraft Workshop until later in the year, hopefully August 2020 if the government information allows me to.

I feel that this is the best decision during this Pandemic and Difficult Time.

I hope that everyone will understand and join me later this year.

All Workshops and Courses, are now Cancelled, I will offer a change of date of my Workshops and Courses and I will be monitoring the situation on a week to week basis and will update and act accordingly based upon the latest government advice.

One Day Workshop

My one-day bushcraft workshop is a great way to get involved in the world of bushcraft skills. It is a brilliant way to wet your appetite and put you on the right path to gaining some beginner bushcraft skills which you can then build on.

The one-day bushcraft workshop covers all of the basic skills you will need. You will learn how to make fire without matches or a lighter, build a shelter and forage for food.

I will guide you through safe tool use and give you the skill to carve simple items you will need in the wilderness, once you have this knowledge you will be able to carry less just have your essentials.

The workshop will be held in our woods and mountain areas of the Rhondda in RCT and allow you to have loads of time to practice the skills I teach you through the day.

My bushcraft workshops are all held in a friendly and relaxed environment and I'm always happy to answer any questions or spend time one on one throughout the day if it suits you.

Two Night Workshops

The workshop will be held in our woods and mountain areas of the Rhondda in RCT

The skills and techniques you need to live in the wilderness are expertly demonstrated and explained so that you can hopefully master them before leaving the workshop. You need have no knowledge of Bushcraft or Survival Skills to attend this workshop.

This is learning through experience.

Most people come on this course as individuals or pairs.

If you have a larger group of people or you are interested in a Corporate/Business team building please contact me for more information.

The itinerary may change depending on the weather, but all subjects will be covered.


First Evening:

· Safety Brief

· Safe Cutting Techniques for knives, folding saws

· Make Camp

· Make wooden pegs and put up tarp shelters

· Preparation to cook evening meal and eat

· Cutting Techniques - Making Pot Hangers, Mallets and More Advanced Woodwork And Some Early Stage Whittling - Carving

· Shelter Building - The shelters you make in this session will be the shelters you'll sleep in on the this night

· Fire Lighting - This session is a favourite and includes Natural and Manmade Tinder, Fire Lays,

· Water preparation - A very important topic if you're travelling and venturing out into out of the way places

· Natural Cordage - Making string from plant fibres

Family Bushcraft Workshops


Venue: One of my venues in RCT

The Workshop is for private groups of up to 4 people only.

To book this course please call us on 01628 200703 and let me know the dates and length of the venue stay you'd like half day, day, or 1 night.

Below is an example of what you and your friends or family could be doing depending on the length of course you’ve booked:

e.g. 1 Night Workshop: After an initial brief and instructional session, the group must construct a camp, prepare a meal and administer themselves for 1 night. The test of their abilities is the last 12 hours when they have to sleep in their own shelter overnight. This Workshop is only for groups of no more than 4 people.

The group will be taught basic survival techniques including fire lighting, shelter construction and cooking methods, initial instruction on the safe use of cutting tools, outdoor hygiene & etiquette is provided. Due to the ever changing British weather, different materials are provided to suit the conditions.

The workshop works by setting a number of goals and skills to be mastered. I will give clear demonstrations on fire lighting, shelter construction, the collection and purification of water and cooking the food provided. After each demonstration it is up to the group to practise and perfect the technique.

As always, our courses and workshops are designed to be fun, instructive and safe. All techniques will be demonstrated with safety in mind. These courses are not designed to test the physical resilience of the participants, but to increase their knowledge and experience. We tailor the courses to suit participants’ abilities and the weather.

Level 1 Bushcraft Qualification Introduction Certificated Course

The Aim of this course is to introduce you gradually to the skills needed to survive and thrive in the wilderness and woodlands. This is a one Day course and is designed for the people new to Bushcraft that want to continue practicing and gaining accreditation.

The course will be made up of 8 Units:

· Ethos of Survival and Bushcraft

· Safe use of cutting tools

· Shelter Building

· Fire Lighting

· Water Preparation

· Bread Preparation and Cooking

· Foraging

· First Aid and Rescue

This course is for Adults male and females wishing to learn more about the wonderful platform of Bushcraft. The skills and techniques you need to live in the wilderness are expertly demonstrated and explained so that you can master them before leaving the course. You need have no knowledge of survival skills to attend this course. This is learning through experience at its best.

Bushcraft Qualification Training

Foundation Level 2

The Aim of this course is to teach you the skills needed to survive and thrive in the wilderness and woodlands.

You will learn the skills and techniques to light fires, identify edible plants, build shelters, make traps and snares, purify water, prepare rabbit, fish and birds, (Depending on season) use knives and saws safely and efficiently and navigate around the country.

This Level 2 Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Livings Skills course is accredited.

The course is more of a fun, safe learning experience than an endurance event.

If you have a group, you can book your own 2-night course.

Itinerary

First night Itinerary:


· 7:00pm Safety Brief

· 7:30pm Safe Cutting Techniques for knives, folding saws and bow saws. Make Camp

· 8:00pm Make wooden pegs and put up tarp shelters

· 8:30pm Game Preparation (e.g pigeon or pheasant), cook evening meal and eat


Second Day Itinerary


· 7:30am Breakfast

· 8:30am Cutting Techniques - making pot hangers, mallets and more advanced woodwork

Whittling - Carving

· 9:00am Shelter Building - The shelters you make in this session will be the shelters you'll sleep in on the Saturday night

· 12:00pm Trout preparation - lunch

· 2:00pm Mammal - e.g. Rabbit or Squirrel Available Meat Preparation) This is your evening meal which will be simmering for a few hours to make it the most tender meat you'll taste (Delicious!)

· 3:00pm Fire Lighting - This session is a favourite and includes natural and manmade tinder, fire lays, fire lighting techniques and friction fire lighting

· 5:00pm Traps and Snares - Covering legalities and different sorts of traps and snares

· 6:00pm Water Preparation - A very important topic if you're travelling and venturing out into out of the way places

· 7:00pm Natural Cordage - Making string from plant fibres

· 7:30pm Evening meal and a chance to chill out after a very busy day

I have various organisations that have approved My Bushcraft Training School as a centre to run the Bushcraft, Survival and Wilderness Living Skills course, which has been accredited as Level 2.

This course is a two-part course run in any of my locations in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

The first part, which is our Bushcraft and Survival Course, will teach you all you need to know and the second part is your assessment. I would suggest a period of consolidation in between but you can run them consecutively if required.

Bushcraft Children’s Birthday Celebrations

The Aim of these Birthday Celebrations is to introduce accompanied children between 7 and 14 years of age to the skills needed in the wonderful platform that Bushcraft represents and influence them with the knowledge, of how to use survival skills and thrive in the wilderness and woodlands.

This is a 2 – 3 hour Birthday Celebrations with a Bushcraft Birthday Certificate and is designed for children accompanied by adults.

We will choose what you want children to take part in from this list depending on what weather, season it is and age.
